Design that
feels intuitive.

I design websites, apps and video game UIs, bringing simple and intuitive designs to every project.

About me

Rhys Gray

From the North Sea
to the screen.

I'm a UI/UX designer from Whitehills, a small fishing village on the Moray Firth coast of Scotland. I attended the NESCol Aberdeen City Campus, where I graduated with my HND in Computer Games Design.

My main focus is on high-quality UI for video games, but I also enjoy designing simple yet intuitive website and application interfaces. I put passion into every project, every page and every screen.

Process

01

You're in the room the whole time.

From the first conversation to the final prototype, I keep you involved at every stage. Your feedback shapes the work, not just the brief.

02

Understand before you make.

I start by researching the problem and the space around it, looking at what exists, what works, and what doesn't, before a single frame gets drawn.

03

Talk first, make second.

Before anything touches the screen I like to talk through the idea. Getting alignment early saves everyone time and means the work lands better when it does appear.

04

Sketch, choose, build.

I generate layout ideas on paper first, pick the strongest direction together, then move into wireframes before adding colour, type and interaction. No jumping ahead.

05

Still learning, always honest.

I'm early in my career and developing my instincts with every project. I'd rather be transparent about where I am than pretend I have it all figured out.

06

Interesting problems welcome.

Whether it's a game HUD, a website or an app, if the problem is genuinely worth solving I want to work on it. Medium follows curiosity.

something great.

I am always open to discussing new design opportunities, whether you need new pages for your website, a HUD for your up-coming game, or a re-design for your app.
